Tinubu mourns victims of tragic incident in Washington, D.C.

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident in Washington, D.C., extending his condolences to the families of the victims and the people of the United States.
In a statement on his X account on Tuesday, the Nigerian leader described the incident as a profound loss and commended the bravery of first responders and emergency teams who worked tirelessly in difficult conditions to assist those affected.
“I am deeply saddened by the tragic incident in Washington, D.C.,” Tinubu said.
“On behalf of Nigeria, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the people of the United States, and all affected by this profound loss. I commend the courageous efforts of first responders and emergency teams for their selfless work in harsh conditions.”
Reaffirming Nigeria’s solidarity with the U.S. government and its citizens, President Tinubu emphasized the need for unity in times of tragedy, stating:
“Nigeria stands in solidarity with the United States government and its people, united in grief and hopeful for a new day.”
