By Kunle Sanni –

President Bola Tinubu on Friday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Alhaji Aminu Dantata in Kano, describing the revered businessman and philanthropist as a “titan of integrity, humility, and generosity.”

Dantata passed away on June 28 in Dubai at the age of 94 and was buried in Madina, Saudi Arabia, on July 1. Tinubu was accompanied by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, and other top government officials.

Speaking at the Dantata residence, President Tinubu said the visit was personal, recalling the strong bond he shared with the late industrialist. “He gave me his blessings before the 2023 election. I had planned to return and thank him, but instead, he came to Abuja. That was the kind of man he was — humble, sincere, and deeply compassionate,” he said.

The President extolled Dantata’s legacy of philanthropy and national service, describing him as a man whose life reflected compassion and selflessness. “He represented the conscience of the nation,” Tinubu said.

“If goodwill exists in the hereafter, Alhaji Aminu Dantata will still be there feeding the hungry and comforting the sick. He gave so much of himself for the good of others,” the President added.

Tinubu offered prayers for the late businessman, asking Allah to grant him eternal peace and Aljannah Firdaus.

In his remarks, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf expressed appreciation for the President’s support and noted his previous gestures, including sending a high-powered delegation to Saudi Arabia and a follow-up visit by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The condolence visit brought together dignitaries, family members, and well-wishers who gathered to honour Dantata’s enduring legacy in business, faith, and public service.
