Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu, others salute Olusi over development of Lagos

President Bola Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and several other prominent Nigerians have praised Prince Tajudeen Olusi, the Chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), for his significant role in the development of Lagos State.

The accolades were given at a reception dinner celebrating the elder statesman, who was also recently awarded an Honorary Doctor of Literature in History, Education, and Community Development by Lagos State University.

In a message delivered by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Tunde Rahman, President Tinubu described Prince Olusi as a mentor who has shaped generations of political leaders. He praised Olusi’s unwavering dedication to community service and his enduring impact on Lagos State. Tinubu highlighted that Olusi’s wisdom and tireless efforts have been instrumental in the state’s progress.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in his remarks, acknowledged Prince Olusi’s six-decade-long leadership across various political platforms. He emphasized Olusi’s unwavering commitment to Lagos State’s development, noting his efforts to ensure cooperation among different arms of government to foster progress. Sanwo-Olu described him as a leader who speaks truth to power and serves as a guiding light for younger politicians.

Dr. Seyi Bamigbade, the Secretary of the Planning Committee, also spoke at the event, expressing his appreciation for the dignitaries who attended to honor Prince Olusi. He emphasized the importance of recognizing and celebrating national icons while they are still alive and urged Nigerians to take time to appreciate their leaders’ contributions.

The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including the Speaker of the Lagos State Assembly, Chief Mudashiru Obasa, other state and national lawmakers, associates, and family members of Prince Olusi.

Prince Tajudeen Olusi’s illustrious career includes serving as a councilor, a member of the House of Representatives, and the Lagos State Chairman of the Social Democratic Party. He later became the National Vice Chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), contributing significantly to Lagos’s political and social landscape.
