Tinubu sets 2026 deadline for National Single Window launch

President Bola Tinubu has set the first quarter of 2026 as the deadline for the launch of Nigeria’s National Single Window (NSW) project—a digital trade facilitation platform aimed at enhancing economic efficiency and transparency.
The directive was announced at the fifth meeting of the NSW Steering Committee held at the State House in Abuja. The President was represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, who reiterated the project’s significance to Tinubu’s economic agenda.
Gbajabiamila stressed that the NSW is vital to achieving the President’s $1 trillion economy vision. He noted that the recent Tax Reform Acts further highlights the urgency of implementing key economic and trade reforms.
“It’s important that we stay focused so we can meet our timelines and deliver results. This is one of Mr. President’s transformative initiatives, and we must ensure its successful implementation,” Gbajabiamila said.
He urged all relevant government agencies to refine their key performance indicators (KPIs) and remain on track for the Phase 1 rollout.
Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, described the NSW as “complex but transformational” and called for a shift from strategy to execution. He emphasized the need for enhanced collaboration to overcome final hurdles.
Also speaking, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, urged the committee to work diligently to meet the Q1 2026 deadline.
For his part, Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Chairman, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, thanked President Tinubu for his consistent support, reaffirming the project’s importance to Nigeria’s long-term economic growth.
