Tinubu to troops: Crush terrorism, Nigeria will never bow

President Bola Tinubu has urged the Nigerian military to intensify its campaign against terrorism and banditry, declaring that Nigeria will never surrender to the forces of terror.
Speaking on Friday during a visit to the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Katsina State, Tinubu described the ongoing security crisis as a defining moment in the nation’s history. He commended the troops for their dedication and pledged his administration’s continued support for their welfare.
“This is a defining moment in our history,” he said. “The threats of terrorism, banditry, and insurgency have persisted for too long. Nigerians are counting on you to end this menace and reclaim every inch of our territory. The fight you are waging is for the soul of Nigeria.”
The President, on a two-day working visit to Katsina, had earlier commissioned a 24-kilometre dual carriageway and the Katsina Agricultural Mechanised Centre before addressing the troops.
He assured the soldiers of improved welfare, including prompt payment of allowances, better healthcare, insurance, and housing support. He emphasized that their sacrifices would be recognized and rewarded.
“To those who seek to destabilize our nation—domestic collaborators or foreign agents—hear this: Nigeria will not bow. Not to fear, not to terror, not to treachery,” Tinubu declared.
He praised the troops’ bravery in confronting insecurity in Katsina and beyond, stressing that their efforts are vital to preserving Nigeria’s peace, security, and sovereignty.
“You are the shields of Nigeria, the brave sons and daughters who stand between our people and the forces of terror. Every terrorist you neutralize, every community you secure, is a victory for justice, freedom, and the future of our children,” he added.
