Tinubu transfers office of Surveyor-General to Presidency

By Kunle Sanni –
President Bola Tinubu has directed the transfer of the Office of the Surveyor-General of the Federation to the Presidency.
According to the President, the move is a strategic step aimed at expediting the implementation of national legacy infrastructure projects.
The directive was announced during the 150th meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) held at the State House in Abuja.
The purpose of the transfer is to ensure coordinated planning, geospatial management, and timely execution of priority federal infrastructure projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway.
At the meeting, President Tinubu emphasized that placing the Surveyor-General’s office under the direct supervision of the Presidency would eliminate bureaucratic delays and improve oversight of the administration’s strategic development goals.
“We must break away from bottlenecks. Our legacy projects are too important to be delayed. We’re taking direct control to ensure results,” the President said.
