Tinubu unveils 15km Kwali Road, vows more rural infrastructure projects

President Bola Tinubu has commissioned the newly constructed 15-kilometre A2–Pai Town Road in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), reaffirming his administration’s commitment to rural infrastructure development.

Speaking at the event on Monday, Tinubu said enhancing rural connectivity is vital for national growth and must translate into tangible benefits for local communities. “Infrastructure means nothing if it is not developed for the benefit of the people,” he stated.

The President commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for extending development to underserved areas and ensuring inclusivity. He described the road as both symbolic and strategic, linking the Abuja–Lokoja expressway to Pai Town and opening new economic corridors.

Tinubu noted that the road would improve access to agricultural markets, educational institutions, and healthcare, while boosting mobility for rural dwellers. He urged the Pai community to protect and make good use of the new infrastructure.

“This road must become a catalyst for local economic growth, supporting farmers, traders, students, and the youth,” he said.

He also stressed that development projects should reflect the Renewed Hope agenda by transforming lives and expanding opportunities, especially in rural communities.

The road project aligns with the President’s broader infrastructure plan, which includes improving agricultural productivity, especially through mechanisation and grazing support.

Earlier on the same day, Tinubu had launched 2,000 tractors in Sheda under the Renewed Hope Agricultural Mechanisation Programme, aimed at modernising farming and increasing food security.
