Tinubu urges APC delegates to act with integrity, put party unity first

President Bola Tinubu has called on delegates and aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to conduct themselves with integrity and uphold party unity during its national convention.
Speaking Friday at the party’s 4th Elective National Convention in Abuja, the President urged stakeholders to ensure that internal contests do not create divisions within the ruling party.
“I call on every delegate, aspirant, leader, and stakeholder to conduct themselves with integrity,” Tinubu said.
The President warned that party contests must not be allowed to create bitterness among members, stressing that unity must remain the APC’s priority after the convention.
“Let no contest divide us. Let no outcome embitter us. At the end of this convention, our party must be the victor. We are one family, marching forward with clarity, discipline, and purpose,” he said.
Tinubu described party conventions as more than routine political exercises, noting that they serve as important opportunities to strengthen internal democracy and party structures.
According to the President, the convention should be used to deepen internal democracy, reorganise party structures and reaffirm the APC’s political direction.
“Conventions are not just observance of periodic party rituals. They are for institutional renewal… opportunities to deepen internal democracy, strengthen the party platform and reaffirm our collective direction,” he stated.
