Tinubu woos investors with $78.5bn project pipeline, welcomes $5.79bn World Bank plan

President Bola Tinubu has invited local and foreign investors to explore 65 investment-ready projects valued at $78.5bn, as his administration intensifies efforts to attract private capital into Nigeria’s economy.

The President also welcomed the World Bank Group’s plan to mobilise up to $5.79bn in private financing for Nigeria, describing the initiative as a boost to efforts to expand businesses and attract investment into critical sectors.

Tinubu made the call in a post on his verified X handle, @officialABAT, on Friday, urging investors to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the projects.

“We undertook our economic reforms to build a stronger foundation for investment and give more Nigerians the opportunity to earn a better living,” he said.

The President said the World Bank’s financing initiative would support the government’s drive to strengthen private-sector participation, particularly in agriculture and digital infrastructure.

“I welcome the World Bank Group’s work to mobilise up to $5.79 billion in private financing for Nigeria. This partnership supports our efforts to help businesses expand and attract investment into agriculture and digital infrastructure,” he added.

The 65-project investment pipeline was presented by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso, at the Nigeria Investors Forum held on the sidelines of the 2026 IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok.

Tinubu said his administration was prepared to work with prospective investors to address challenges that could hinder the implementation of viable projects.

“Our administration will work with you to resolve obstacles and move viable investments into execution, creating jobs and expanding opportunities for our people,” he said.
