Tinubu’s aide hails Super Eagles’ win over Rwanda, urges victory against Zimbabwe

Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Grassroots Sports Development to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Hon. Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, has hailed the Super Eagles’ dominant display in their victory against Rwanda in Friday’s FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Hon. Adeboye, who also serves as the Chairman of the 2026 World Cup Strategy Committee, expressed his joy after Victor Osimhen’s brace secured a comfortable 2-0 win for the team in Kigali.
He praised the Super Eagles’ performance, noting that their dominance has rekindled Nigerians’ confidence in the team’s ability to secure a spot at the global tournament set to take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Adeboye, who is working alongside the National Sports Commission to develop various sports, including football across Nigeria, urged the Super Eagles to build on their winning momentum against Zimbabwe in Uyo on Tuesday.
“I am absolutely elated about this outstanding victory and performance by the Super Eagles. I sincerely convey my warmest congratulations to the team on their impressive win against the Rwandan national team in Kigali,” Adeboye said.
“This triumph is a testament to the Super Eagles’ hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Their outstanding performance has once again made our nation proud, showcasing the rich football talent and resilience that define Nigerian sports.
“This victory has revived our chances of qualifying for the World Cup, and I am optimistic we will further boost our chances with a win against Zimbabwe in Uyo on Tuesday, by the special grace of God.”
He further congratulated the entire team, coaching staff, and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on their achievement, expressing hope that the victory would serve as motivation for continued excellence on the international stage.
