Tinubu’s bold leadership driving Nigeria’s growth – VP Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has credited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and policies for positioning Nigeria on a new path of economic growth and investment readiness.

Speaking on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa during a meeting with ministers and agency heads, Shettima highlighted the administration’s efforts to attract global partnerships, including the upcoming Nigeria-Brazil Strategic Dialogue Mechanism.

The dialogue, set to resume after a decade-long hiatus, will see Brazil’s Vice President, Geraldo Alckmin, leading a high-level delegation of government and private sector executives to Nigeria.

“In President Bola Tinubu, we have a leader who has demonstrated the dexterity and audacity to hope for a better tomorrow,” Shettima said, urging Nigerian ministers to take full charge of the discussions and ensure a well-prepared engagement with their Brazilian counterparts.

He emphasized that Nigeria must leverage its similarities with Brazil to enhance economic and technological cooperation, particularly in agriculture, culture and tourism, livestock production, and military technology.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, noted that the dialogue presents an opportunity to revitalize Nigeria’s agricultural sector and advance food security.

“It is a significant moment for Nigeria because agriculture will play a major role in this partnership. We have a chance to catch up with global advancements,” Kyari said.

Hannatu Musawa, Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, highlighted the deep cultural ties between both nations, citing Brazil’s large Nigerian-descendant population. She revealed plans to rebuild the Nigerian House in Brazil and introduce an annual Orisha Festival to strengthen cultural diplomacy.
