Tinubu’s direct primary policy strengthening APC, says Gov. Abiodun

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state says President Bola Tinubu’s insistence on direct primary elections has strengthened the All Progressives Congress (APC) and deepened internal democracy within the party.
Abiodun made the remark while reacting to the outcome of the APC primary election for the Ogun East Senatorial District, where he emerged as the party’s candidate.
According to him, the policy has allowed party members to freely participate in candidate selection, thereby enhancing unity, transparency, and a stronger sense of ownership among members.

“The direct primary policy is strengthening the APC,” Abiodun said, adding that the process reflects the party’s commitment to inclusive democracy under Tinubu’s leadership.
He expressed appreciation to the President, APC leaders, and stakeholders for their support, noting that the primary election outcome demonstrated confidence in his leadership and vision for the district.

Abiodun also reaffirmed his commitment to representing Ogun East Senatorial District, pledging to promote development, peace, and economic progress if elected.
