Tinubu’s housing programme delivers over 10,000 units across 15 locations — Idris

The federal government has commenced construction of more than 10,000 housing units across 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope housing programme, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has said.
Idris disclosed this on Friday in Abuja at the 20th anniversary gala and awards night of Abuja Property Development Company (APDC) Limited.
He said the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Programme was part of the administration’s efforts to expand access to homeownership and improve living standards across the country.
“Through the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Programme, the administration has advanced housing projects across the country, with more than 10,000 housing units commenced across 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory,” the minister said.
He added that sustained investment, effective partnerships and innovative financing were essential to making homeownership more accessible to Nigerians.
The minister, a former chairman of APDC’s Board of Directors, congratulated the company on its 20th anniversary and commended its management, staff and stakeholders for their contributions to its growth.
He urged property developers to maintain high standards, adopt responsible planning practices and ensure their projects addressed the needs of families and communities.
“Property development goes beyond putting up buildings. It involves creating spaces where families can live, businesses can grow, and communities can thrive,” Idris said.
