Tinubu’s ministers to present two-year scorecard at northern stakeholders’ forum

By Kunle Sanni –
Ministers and senior officials of the Bola Tinubu administration will this week meet with key stakeholders from Nigeria’s 19 northern states to present the Federal Government’s performance report over the past two years.
The engagement, organised by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation (SAMBF), is scheduled to take place on July 29 and 30 in Kaduna.
According to Premium Times, the event will provide a platform to assess the Tinubu administration’s delivery on campaign promises made ahead of the 2023 general elections, with particular focus on development efforts in the northern region.
The organisers said the forum builds on a series of pre-election dialogues held in 2022, where presidential candidates—including then-candidate Tinubu—presented their manifestos and pledged to tackle the region’s developmental challenges.
“With President Tinubu now two years into his administration, this follow-up session aims to evaluate progress on those promises, deepen government-citizen engagement, and promote a clearer understanding of the administration’s policies and programmes,” said Abubakar Umar, Director-General of SAMBF.
The foundation said the forum is designed to foster constructive dialogue between federal officials and citizens, address public concerns, correct misinformation, and enhance democratic accountability.
“It is meant to bridge the gap between policy implementation and public perception,” the foundation noted. “We believe that open and honest discourse is critical to ensuring that governance remains responsive, inclusive, and accountable to the people.”
The event is expected to attract a wide range of participants, including federal ministers, political leaders, academics, business executives, traditional rulers, and civil society groups.
