Afrobeats musician, Tiwa Savage, has partnered with Berklee College of Music to launch a debut music training programme in Nigeria. The initiative is expected to empower emerging African creatives through access, mentorship and world-class music education.
The pop star, who announced the development via her Instagram page, noted that the training would be conducted through her music foundation as a way of nurturing the next generation of creatives and expanding access to opportunities across the African continent.
The programme, themed “Berklee in Nigeria: Tiwa Savage Intensive Music Programme”, is scheduled to hold in Lagos from April 23 to April 26, 2026.
Tiwa Savage explained that participants in the training would have the opportunity to earn scholarships to study at Berklee College of Music, just as she did about 20 years ago.
Corroborating the singer’s announcement, Berklee College of Music stated that participants would be given the tools and opportunities to shape the future of music across the continent.
The institution added that the programme would enable participants to gain hands-on experience in the music industry and fully understand the opportunities available to them on and off the stage.
