Trump can still correct missteps with apology to Iran — Oluwo

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –

The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has said that United States President Donald Trump can still correct his missteps in the ongoing Iran crisis by apologising to Iran and its leadership, stressing that it is not too late to right the wrong.

The monarch described the United States as a nation built on justice and credibility, noting that past leaders had sustained its global integrity.

He said the current war between Iran and Israel has become a test of leadership for the U.S., adding that Trump is failing but still has the opportunity to make amends.

Oba Akanbi maintained that an apology to Iran and its authorities, as well as to NATO allies, would help the U.S. retain its leadership status, warning that relations among NATO nations are becoming frosty.

He also highlighted the global economic impact of the conflict, noting that nature may not forgive Trump for initiating what he described as an avoidable war.

“The economy can still be rescued. The wound should be healed. More salt should not be added to the injury. Trump should apologise holistically to Iran’s leadership. The world is sympathising with Iran on the painful loss of their leaders.

“Sovereign countries should be regarded and respected. Human dignity should also be valued. The current economic quagmire should not persist due to ego. The world is fragile beyond personal ego. The earlier dialogue is opened with Iran, the better for the world,” he said.

Oba Akanbi further urged Israel to improve its public and international relations, emphasising that nations must cooperate to ensure peace and global stability.
