Two docked in Ekiti over alleged theft of generator

The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned two men before a Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti over the alleged theft of a generator valued at N450,000.

Court sources disclosed that the defendants, Olusegun Ayomide Ige, 22, and Kamarudeen Gbadamosi, 20, are facing charges of stealing and receiving stolen property.

As disclosed by the prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, the alleged offences were committed on March 18, 2026, in Ado-Ekiti.

Oriyomi alleged that Ige stole a Thermocool generator belonging to one Dada Bamidele while Gbadamosi received the generator on the same date, knowing it was stolen.

According to the prosecution, the offences contravene relevant provisions of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

In their client’s defence, Oluwafemi Alabi and Blessing Falaye, urged the court to admit the accused to bail, promising they would not jump trial.

Reacting to the defense counsel’s plea, the Chief Magistrate, Abayomi Adeosun, granted each defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety each and adjourned the case till April 28, 2026, for further hearing.
