Aiyedatiwa urges value-driven leadership at Oba Falae’s book launch

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has called on emerging leaders to embrace integrity, discipline and resilience, using the life of former finance minister and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Olu Falae as a model.

Aiyedatiwa made the call on Thursday at the launch of Falae’s autobiography, “The Triumph of Grace,” held at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs in Victoria Island, Lagos, describing the event as a platform to reflect on leadership values and national direction.

The governor stressed the need for a return to value-driven leadership, noting that the autobiography offers lessons on navigating leadership challenges, while emphasising that integrity remains the most enduring currency for any leader.

“Diligence is not negotiable, adversity is not final, and integrity remains the most enduring currency,” Aiyedatiwa said, adding that true leadership requires courage, wisdom and accountability in both public and private life.

He noted that Falae’s life exemplifies discipline, resilience and service, urging younger generations to draw inspiration from his experiences in both public office and traditional leadership.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by the Secretary General of the Federation, George Akume, called on traditional rulers to promote unity, dialogue and peaceful coexistence across communities.

Tinubu noted that the role of traditional institutions has become increasingly important in addressing security and social challenges, stressing that peacebuilding requires collaboration between government and community leaders.

Also speaking, former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, described the book as a reflection of diligence, integrity and faith, while Oba Falae attributed his life journey to divine grace and expressed gratitude for the successful launch of his autobiography.
