UCL: Arsenal beat Inter 3-1 to maintain 100 per cent record

Arsenal maintained their 100 per cent record in this year’s UEFA Champions League with a 3-1 away victory over Inter Milan on Tuesday night.

Prior to the encounter in Italy, the Gunners, who are topping the English Premier League table, had won all six matches, making it seven wins from seven games with Tuesday’s triumph.

Gabriel Jesus netted twice, while Victor Gyokeres scored once to ensure Mikel Arteta’s side claimed all the points. Jesus opened the scoring in the 10th minute, with Jurrien Timber providing the assist.

The home side levelled 18 minutes later through Petar Sucic, but Arsenal regained the lead in the 31st minute, again through Jesus, this time assisted by Leandro Trossard.

Holding a 2-1 advantage at the break, the Gunners added a third goal six minutes from time through Victor Gyokeres, with Bukayo Saka supplying the assist.

The win keeps Arsenal firmly at the top of the table with 21 points from seven games and a goal difference of plus 18.

In other games on Tuesday night, Real Madrid mauled AS Monaco 6-1, Olympiacos beat Bayer Leverkusen 2-0, Sporting CP stunned Paris Saint-Germain 2-1, while Tottenham Hotspur defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0.

Elsewhere, Napoli were held to a 1-1 draw by FC Copenhagen, Ajax secured a 2-1 away victory over Villarreal, Bodo/Glimt compounded the woes of Manchester City with a 3-1 win, while Club Brugge thrashed hosts Kairat Almaty 4-1.
