By Tosin Omojola –
The draw for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 was conducted on Friday, with several high-profile fixtures confirmed.
Super Eagles duo Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, who both made significant contributions to their teams’ qualification, will feature prominently in the next phase.
Osimhen’s Turkish side, Galatasaray, have been drawn against English Premier League giants Liverpool. The Nigerian striker scored from the penalty spot in the first half to secure a 1–0 victory for Galatasaray during their group stage clash in Istanbul on September 30.
Meanwhile, Lookman and his Spanish club, Atletico Madrid, will face Tottenham Hotspur in what promises to be another keenly contested tie.

English Premier League leaders Arsenal will take on German side Bayer Leverkusen, while Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have been drawn against Real Madrid in what is widely regarded as the standout fixture of the round.
Chelsea will confront Paris Saint-Germain in a rematch of last season’s Club World Cup tie, which the Blues won 3–0.
Surprise package Bodo/Glimt will square up against Sporting CP, while Atalanta have also been drawn to face Bayern Munich.
