VIDEO: Northern APC governors reject Lawan as consensus candidate, insist power must shift to South

Northern governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress have again insisted that power must return to the South after President Muhammadu Buhari’s eight years in office.
They made this known after meeting with Buhari on Monday.
Speaking with the press after meeting with President Buhari, the northern governors insisted that they stood by their decision on Saturday to endorse power shift to the South.
They rejected the choice of Senate President Ahmed Lawan as the party’s consensus presidential candidate by National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu.
WesternPost had earlier reported that Adamu announced the choice of Adamu as the party’s consensus candidate at the National Working Committee meeting on Monday. He told the NWC members that Lawan’s choice was arrived at after consultation with President Buhari.
Members of the NWC however kicked against it, saying Adamu was taking the decision on his own.
The APC governors are expected to meet again by 5pm to make a final decision ahead of the party’s presidential primaries.
