VIDEO: VP Shettima arriving New York for 79th UN General Assembly
Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has arrived in New York ahead of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
He was received at John F. Kennedy International Airport by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, and other officials from the Nigerian missions in the United States.
The Vice President is leading Nigeria’s delegation as directed by President Bola Tinubu. He is expected to deliver Nigeria’s national statement to the General Assembly, attend important sideline events, and hold bilateral meetings.
The high-level General Debate, with the theme “Leaving No One Behind: Acting Together for the Advancement of Peace, Sustainable Development, and Human Dignity for Present and Future Generations,” will run from Tuesday, September 24, through Saturday, September 28, 2024.
