VP Shettima mourns late Abubakar Garo, extols his service to community

Vice President Kashim Shettima has extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Alhaji Abubakar Sule Garo (Babangida), the elder brother of Kano APC chieftain Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, over his passing.

The deceased, a former Managing Director of the Abubakar Rimi Market Management Board in Kano, was described by the Vice President as “a most committed advocate of his community” who stood out for his humility, kindness, and dedication to public service.

In a condolence message issued on Friday, Vice President Shettima said the late Garo’s death had deeply saddened him and many others who admired his passion for grassroots development.

“He was a proud and dedicated citizen who loved working for the common people,” the Vice President said.

Shettima prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the late Garo’s shortcomings and grant his soul eternal rest. He also asked God to give the bereaved family the strength to bear the loss.

“In this time of grief, I express my condolences to the family and comfort all those he left behind. I pray Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the departed and receive his soul into eternal peace,” the statement read.

Alhaji Abubakar Sule Garo’s contributions to community development and market reform in Kano State were widely acknowledged during his lifetime.
