Why I’m unhappy with Kollington Ayinla — K1

By Tosin Brown
Fuji maestro, Wasiu Ayinde Omogbolahan, popularly known as K1 de Ultimate, has expressed his displeasure with his older colleague and Fuji legend, Alhaji Kollington Ayinla.
In a recent podcast, K1 voiced his disappointment over Kollington’s failure to stand by him and offer support during the death and burial of his mother earlier this year.
He stated emphatically that he was unhappy with Kollington and is not interested in being convinced otherwise.

The Olori Omo Oba Ijebu revealed that he had stood with the late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister during the passing of Barrister’s mother and had also shown the same support to Kollington when he lost his own mother. K1 said he expected the same level of courtesy in return.
He added that he had always been there for Kollington and felt he deserved the same measure of support during his time of grief.
K1 dismissed Kollington’s excuse—that he tried to call but received no response—as flimsy and unacceptable. He noted that if Kollington truly wanted to show support and solidarity, he knew how to reach him.
K1 lost his mother on January 18, 2025. She passed away at the age of 105.
