Why November salaries, bonuses, delayed for some workers — Commissioner explains

The Kwara State Ministry of Finance has clarified that most state government workers have received their November salaries, with disbursement still ongoing for others.
However, workers who have not completed their registration with the Kwara State Resident Registration Agency (KWSRRA) remain unpaid, as previously stipulated.
In a statement issued on Monday in Ilorin, the Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Hauwa Nuru, urged affected workers to resolve pending issues by visiting the nearest KWSRRA office.
“The state government has commenced disbursing November salaries, and many workers across MDAs have already been paid. The bonus will follow shortly, as usual,” she said.
She explained that this is the first salary disbursement since the implementation of KWSRRA registration, and the process is being carried out in batches to incorporate updated data and biometrics into the payroll system.
“This exercise is designed to encourage data-driven planning, strengthen payroll integrity, enhance efficiency and public accountability, and promote public safety.
“Workers who have not received their payments should visit the nearest KWSRRA office to complete their registration. This is in everyone’s interest,” Nuru added.
The statement also noted that local government workers and SUBEB teachers are being paid in a similar manner, following KWSRRA clearance.
“The directive requiring all state employees, including those in the 16 local government areas, to register with KWSRRA is a strategic step toward improving accountability and service delivery. This registration has been open for over six months, allowing ample time for compliance,” the statement read.
