Wike appoints additional 28,000 special assistants
River State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has appointed an additional 28,000 special assistants for various political units in the state ahead of the 2023 elections.
The appointments come a day after the governor appointed 14,000 special advisers, 319 Ward Liaison Officers and 40 Local Government Area Liaison Officers.
Special Assistant to the governor on Media, Kelvin Ebiri, who announced the development in a statement on Wednesday, said the appointment takes immediate effect.
Meanwhile, the governor has also approved N1billion to support flood victims in the state.
The governor’s spokesperson stated that the fund is for emergency relief measures to support flood victims in Ahoada West and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government areas of the state.
