Wike is an APC agent, saboteur — Rivers PDP faction declares

A factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Robinson Ewor, has declared that Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, is no longer a member of the PDP and is working to dismantle the opposition from within.

Speaking on Arise Television’s The Morning Show on Monday, Ewor alleged that Wike has openly pledged allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is using his influence to interfere in PDP affairs despite holding a federal appointment under an APC-led government.

“Nyesom Wike today exists in PDP because he’s on a mission to destroy the PDP, to destroy the opposition in the country, not just Rivers State,” Ewor stated.

He criticized Wike’s insistence on Sam Anyanwu retaining his position as PDP national secretary, questioning the minister’s involvement in party decisions while serving another party’s administration.

Ewor further claimed that Wike’s lingering presence in the PDP is a strategic move to destabilize the opposition ahead of the 2027 elections.

“In good conscience, can Nigerians still see Wike as a member of the PDP? The answer is no,” he said, adding that the President is allegedly aiding Wike in weakening the PDP.

Wike, in a separate statement last Friday, expressed disappointment over the political situation in Rivers and said he initially sought the removal of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

He credited President Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency with saving Fubara from being ousted.
