Wole Oluyede reaffirms interest in Ekiti governorship race, vows to defeat Oyebanji

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State, Wole Oluyede, has addressed mounting concerns about his candidacy ahead of the June 20 governorship election.

Oluyede said no form of intimidation or political pressure would stop his ambition to unseat the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji and the All Progressives Congress in the state.

Speaking through his campaign organisation’s Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, the PDP candidate said he joined the governorship race to provide better leadership for the people of Ekiti.

“We are determined to rescue Ekiti people from poverty, backwardness and what we consider failed leadership,” he stated.

Oluyede also dismissed concerns over his recent silence, describing reports being circulated about his ambition as false narratives sponsored by political opponents.

“I want to assure Ekiti people that nobody can intimidate me. The attacks on some of our supporters only show that the ruling party is afraid of defeat,” he said.

The PDP candidate added that many residents had been asking about the commencement of the party’s full campaign activities, assuring supporters that the campaign would soon gather momentum across the state.

He further accused the APC of creating the impression that the election would be an easy victory for Oyebanji, insisting that the PDP remained confident of winning the governorship poll through the ballot box.
