World Health Day: Oluremi Tinubu urges investment in science to improve health

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu says that supporting science, investing in health systems, and working together are key to building a healthier and more resilient world.
Speaking on World Health Day 2026, themed “Together for Health. Stand with Science,” she said: “Progress in health depends on innovation and strong collaboration across nations and sectors. Scientific partnerships have helped humanity overcome many health challenges and continue to guide us toward healthy living.”
She also highlighted the One Health approach, which links the health of humans, animals, plants, and the environment.
She said: “The well-being of people, animals, plants, and our environment is deeply interconnected. Protecting these systems is essential for preventing diseases and promoting sustainable health for all.”
Calling for collective action, the First Lady added: “As we mark this important day, let us continue to support science, invest in health systems, and work together to build a healthier and more resilient world for all.”
