Yari: We’ll campaign on Tinubu’s performance, not incumbency

The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, says the party will campaign on President Bola Tinubu’s achievements and performance as it seeks re-election in 2027.
Yari spoke during a visit by the campaign council to the palace of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, in Oyo State, where the traditional ruler pledged massive votes for Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
The former Zamfara State governor said the APC would not rely on its control of the federal government to secure victory but would take its message directly to voters.
“We will campaign on the performance and achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration,” Yari said.
He expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, citing the President’s experience and capacity to transform the country.
According to him, Tinubu’s performance was such that, but for the constitutional requirement to hold elections, another contest might not have been necessary.
Yari, however, stressed that the party would not take Nigerians for granted, insisting that it would follow the democratic process by seeking the electorate’s mandate.
He said the campaign council would highlight the administration’s achievements and plans for the future as it canvassed support across Oyo State and other parts of the country.
Responding, Ladoja assured the delegation that Oyo State would deliver massive votes for Tinubu in 2027.
