Yoruba nation activist Igboho pays homage to Oba Ladoja

Yoruba nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has paid a courtesy visit to the newly crowned Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja.
The visit, which took place on Monday, September 29, at the monarch’s Bodija residence in Ibadan, was marked by symbolic gestures highlighting the close bond between the two men.
The Olubadan warmly received Igboho and, in a rare display, invited him to sit on his lap—a gesture many interpreted as a public affirmation of a father–son relationship.
Oba Ladoja also presented Igboho with one of his royal beads and permitted him to sit on the royal chair, honours seldom extended from the throne.
Crowds of supporters thronged the palace to witness the historic moment, hailing both the Olubadan and Igboho.
In his remarks, Igboho congratulated Oba Ladoja on his coronation, describing him as “a leader deeply loved across Ibadan, Yorubaland, and beyond.”
He praised the monarch’s humility, leadership, and long-standing influence, adding:
“His reign will no doubt further promote peace, unity, and development in Ibadanland and the entire Yorubaland.”
