The wife of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kwara State, Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu, Hajia Zainab Titilayo Arike Kale Kawu, will mark her 56th birthday with the launch of the Arike Hopeful Hearts Foundation and a health outreach for women in the state.
The birthday programme, scheduled for Monday, August 31, 2026, will take place at the family house of Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu in the Agaka community, Ilorin, where the foundation’s official logo will also be unveiled.
According to the organisers, the foundation is aimed at providing a structured platform for humanitarian interventions, particularly initiatives addressing the needs of vulnerable women and children, while promoting access to basic healthcare and opportunities for healthier and more dignified lives.
A major highlight of the inaugural programme will be a health outreach for women, featuring basic medical checks, screenings and consultations, with particular attention to diabetes, hypertension and health concerns associated with post-menopause.
In the same vein, medical doctors and other health professionals are expected to educate participants on the causes, prevention and management of diabetes and hypertension, as well as the importance of recognising symptoms early and seeking appropriate medical care instead of resorting to self-medication.
The experts will also provide guidance on post-menopausal health and the physical changes associated with menopause, with participants requiring further medical attention to receive appropriate advice and referrals. Prescribed medications will also be dispensed as part of the outreach.
Beyond the immediate medical intervention, the initiative is intended to promote greater health awareness among women and empower them with knowledge to identify potential health challenges early and make informed decisions about prevention and treatment. The foundation’s broader vision also extends to children and other vulnerable members of society.
According to the organisers, the launch represents an opportunity to mark the celebrant’s 56th birthday through service to humanity and community development rather than celebration alone.
