The Zamfara State Government on Monday convened a high-level security stakeholders’ meeting in Gusau, the state capital, to strengthen efforts against banditry and related crimes.
The meeting, organised by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) on the directive of Governor Dauda Lawal, brought together heads of security agencies and senior government officials to assess the current security situation and enhance collaboration with federal actors.
Chaired by Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, the session was later joined by Deputy Governor Mani Malam Mummuni—highlighting the administration’s top-level commitment to restoring peace.
Participants reviewed ongoing security operations and discussed ten new strategic recommendations proposed by the state government to build on recent gains and intensify counter-banditry efforts across vulnerable communities.
In his remarks, Nakwada commended the bravery of security personnel and acknowledged their sacrifices in safeguarding lives and property across the state.
“The state government acknowledges the immense sacrifices you and your gallant personnel have made in protecting our people. On behalf of His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal, I deeply appreciate and commend your selfless efforts,” he said.
He emphasized the importance of continuous collaboration and adaptability in confronting dynamic security threats.
“To effectively tackle our complex security challenges, we must continue to adapt, innovate, and, most importantly, work together more seamlessly than ever before,” Nakwada added.
