2027: Ekiti PDP, APC back Tinubu, target 900,000 votes

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji and the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in the June 20 election, Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, have rallied support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Oyebanji spoke in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday at a mobilisation rally organised by the Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Alliance to mark the end of its “20,000 Steps for Tinubu” campaign.

The governor said the APC and PDP in Ekiti were working together to secure a significant victory for Tinubu, urging residents to deliver at least 900,000 votes for the president in 2027.

He said the collaboration reflected a commitment to prioritising the development of Ekiti over partisan differences, adding that Oluyede had demonstrated this by mobilising PDP supporters across the state for Tinubu.

Oyebanji commended Oluyede for working with his administration and said Tinubu had made significant contributions to the development of Ekiti since assuming office in 2023.

Oluyede, who convened the mobilisation campaign, said PDP supporters would embark on door-to-door mobilisation across the state’s 16 local government areas to canvass votes for Tinubu.

He said his supporters had resolved to back the president and would work towards securing 90% of the votes cast in Ekiti for him in 2027.

Oluyede said the mobilisation was aimed at promoting peace, unity and development in the state, assuring Tinubu of his supporters’ commitment to his re-election.
