Tinubu celebrates Oyetola, Badaru on birthdays, hails public service
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and former Minister of Defence and ex-Jigawa State Governor, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, on their birthdays.
In separate messages issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu commended the two former governors for their contributions to public service and the administration of the country.
The President praised Oyetola for his role in advancing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda through the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, particularly efforts to improve efficiency, attract investment, create jobs and strengthen Nigeria’s competitiveness in the global maritime industry.
Tinubu described Oyetola as a “renowned technocrat, shrewd administrator and committed patriot”, noting his experience in the insurance industry and public administration before becoming governor of Osun State.
“Your years of service to our country as an insurance icon, public servant and political leader demonstrate your commitment to the development and prosperity of Nigeria,” the President said.
He added: “As Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, you brought experience and dedication to the task of transforming our maritime sector into a major driver of economic growth, investment and employment.”
Tinubu also congratulated Badaru, describing him as a “consummate administrator, successful industrialist and dedicated statesman”.
He recalled Badaru’s tenure as governor of Jigawa State from 2015 to 2023, citing his interventions in agriculture, infrastructure and social development.
