2027: Jonathan poses no threat to Tinubu’s re-election – Group

By Boye Oyeyemi –
A support group within the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, the Progressive Network for Tinubu (PNT), has dismissed speculations that former President Goodluck Jonathan’s possible return to the presidential race could threaten President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
WESTERN POST reports that Jonathan has not declared any intention to run, but reports suggest that the former president may be consulting political allies over a comeback.
Speaking on Tuesday during the inauguration of PNT local government coordinators across Ondo State, the group’s Director-General, Olumide Obadele, said the APC had nothing to fear.
“The APC, or Tinubu, is not jittery about Goodluck Jonathan, and I can tell you that – take it from me. I’m sure Jonathan will not run at the end of the day. The constitution of Nigeria is clear about it, and there is no point trying to twist it,” he said.
Obadele accused those calling on Jonathan to contest of trying to “embarrass and rubbish” him, stressing that the former president should resist being used for political mischief.
He maintained that Tinubu’s re-election was a “done deal”, arguing that no opposition party currently had the structure or unity to challenge the APC in 2027.
The PNT chief said the group would continue mobilising across the state to increase voter participation and canvass support for President Tinubu, noting that the goal was to convert voter apathy into active support for the APC.

Why ask Court to stop him from contesting then?
It’s only Jonathan will make this guy swet for 2027 election
