2027: Oladejo declares for Reps, seeks Special Status for Lagos

..vows push for recognition of 37 LCDAs
Former spokesperson of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Seye Oladejo, has pledged to push for the recognition of the 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State if elected into the House of Representatives.
Oladejo made the promise during his declaration to contest the House of Representatives seat for Mushin Constituency II at the GOS Compound in Olateju, Mushin, arguing that Lagos deserves a special status in Nigeria because of its economic and population significance.
The former local government chairman, Special Adviser to the Governor, and former Commissioner reflected on his years of public service and political experience in Mushin and across Lagos State, describing himself as a tested administrator with the capacity to deliver effective representation.
Addressing supporters at the event, Oladejo said he remained committed to serving the people of Mushin Constituency II, recalling that he had previously served as secretary and chairman of Mushin Local Government before moving on to serve in the state executive council.
He said, “I am the same man you made your secretary and later chairman of Mushin Local Government. I later became Special Adviser on Commerce and Industry to the Governor and Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations. I am here to canvass for your support and seek your understanding to back me up at the House of Representatives for Mushin Constituency II.”
Oladejo stated that his ambition was driven by a desire to provide purposeful leadership and champion people-oriented legislation, adding that every constituency deserves quality representation in the House of Representatives, which comprises 360 members.
The APC chieftain outlined several areas he intends to focus on if elected, including youth empowerment, vocational education, healthcare, sports development, social welfare, and economic support for small businesses, promising support for widows, indigent students, artisans, and people in the creative industry.
Earlier, the Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Olatubosun Aruwe, endorsed Oladejo’s ambition ahead of the primary election, while the Chairman of the APC Mandate Group in Mushin Local Government, Abdulfatai Idowu, appealed to party members to rally behind Oladejo and other APC candidates.
