Dangote stresses unity, support for leaders at Badmus’ book launch

The President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has called on Nigerians to actively participate in the development of the country, saying nation-building should not be seen as the sole responsibility of President Bola Tinubu.

Dangote made the call during the presentation of a book organised to commemorate the 80th birthday of prominent businessman and philanthropist, Chief Khamis Olatunde Badmus. The billionaire businessman stressed the need for unity, patriotism and collective efforts among citizens, adding that Nigerians must continue to support and pray for leaders at all levels.

He noted that the success of the nation’s leadership would ultimately reflect positively on the lives of ordinary citizens, urging individuals and organisations to contribute their quota to national growth.

According to him, “Nigerians must believe in our country, have real unity and make sure that nation-building is not done by Mr President alone but by all of us collectively. We must always pray for our leaders to make sure they succeed. Once they do, it will be better for all of us.”

Dangote, who donated N100 million in support of the book launch, described Badmus as a man whose life reflects discipline, enterprise and devotion to God.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, in a goodwill message delivered by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, attributed Badmus’ success in life and business to his strong belief in God and dedication to righteous living.

He also advised him to embrace healthy living by sleeping eight hours daily, engaging in one hour of exercise every day and eating only twice daily to guarantee longevity.

Governor Adeleke, in his remarks, described Chief Badmus as a pride of Osun State, the Yoruba nation and Nigeria at large.
