21 MSME hubs supporting 650,000 jobs across Nigeria — FG

President Bola Tinubu has said 21 shared facilities for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory are supporting businesses and an estimated 650,000 jobs nationwide.

Tinubu disclosed this on Monday in a post on his official X handle, saying the facilities were established as part of the Federal Government’s investment in shared MSME hubs through the National MSME Clinics.

According to the President, the initiative is designed to reduce the cost of doing business by giving entrepreneurs access to modern equipment, reliable power and production facilities without requiring them to bear the full cost of setting up such infrastructure.

He said many Nigerian entrepreneurs had the ideas, skills and ambition to build successful businesses but were often constrained by limited access to essential equipment and infrastructure.

“A tailor should not need millions of naira to buy industrial machinery before she can grow her business. A food processor should not have to build a factory before producing at scale,” Tinubu said.

He said the shared MSME hubs were intended to remove such barriers and enable small businesses to increase production at lower costs.

“When small businesses can produce more, at lower cost, they become more competitive. They grow. They employ more people. They create income and opportunity for Nigerian families,” he said.

Tinubu said the intervention formed part of his administration’s broader effort to support enterprise development and create economic opportunities from the grassroots.

“Our job is to remove those barriers,” he said.

“That is the Nigeria we are building,” the President added.
