65th independence day: Tinubu urges Nigerians to embrace spirit of productivity

By Kunle Sanni –
President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to embrace productivity, innovation, and enterprise as the foundation for national development.
Speaking on Wednesday in a nationwide broadcast to mark the country’s 65th Independence anniversary, the President said his message to citizens is “hope and a call to action,” stressing that government reforms must be complemented by individual and collective efforts.
“The federal government will continue to do its part to fix the plumbing of our economy. Now, we must all turn on the taps of productivity, innovation, and enterprise—just as the Ministry of Interior has done with our travel passports by speeding up processing,” Tinubu said.
He urged state governments and other sub-national entities to actively participate in nation-building, while calling on citizens to farm, build factories, support local industries, and patronize Made-in-Nigeria goods.
“Let us be a nation of producers, not just consumers. Let us farm our land and build factories to process our produce. Let us patronize ‘Made-in-Nigeria’ goods. I say Nigeria first. Let us pay our taxes,” the President added.
