Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Monday inaugurated the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) Door-to-Door Movement in Ilorin, the state capital, to mobilise grassroots support for the president’s re-election bid in 2027.

During the inauguration of the movement’s executives, AbdulRazaq urged members to intensify mobilisation and communicate the impact of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to residents across the state. He commended the movement’s leadership for creating a platform to explain the Federal Government’s policies and programmes to the people.

The governor also charged members to listen to residents’ concerns, provide feedback to the government and obtain accurate information about government programmes through official channels. He emphasised the need for peaceful and respectful engagement, while urging the movement to work with all All Progressives Congress (APC) structures, from the national leadership to ward officials and polling unit committees.

Similarly, the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and APC governorship candidate, Salihu Yakubu Danladi, expressed confidence that the party would secure massive votes in the state in 2027. He attributed the party’s prospects to AbdulRazaq’s achievements in infrastructure, civil service administration, pension management and the welfare of youths, women and senior citizens across the state’s 193 wards. Danladi added that the APC had enough achievements to campaign on without insulting political opponents.

The state APC Chairman, Sunday Fagbemi, also expressed confidence in the party’s chances in the 2027 general elections, saying it was determined to win all elective positions in Kwara. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to securing victory for Tinubu, the governorship candidate and its candidates for the National and State Assemblies, while dismissing claims of alternative political arrangements in the state.

Meanwhile, the founder and grand patron of the movement, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, urged residents to support Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections. Represented by High Chief Kestin Pondi, Ekpemupolo said electing APC candidates at all levels would strengthen the president’s ability to implement policies aimed at economic stability and national development. He also urged Nigerians to support the administration’s efforts in security, infrastructure, healthcare and education.

As part of the mobilisation drive, Ekpemupolo announced the donation of 34 campaign vehicles to the movement to facilitate its grassroots activities across Kwara. The gesture is expected to support the group’s outreach efforts as it seeks to expand its presence throughout the state ahead of the elections.

The National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Adekanbi Asuku, also called on residents to support Tinubu in the forthcoming polls. He commended AbdulRazaq for his performance in Kwara and continued support for the president, arguing that the governor’s achievements had been strengthened by the Federal Government’s backing. Asuku also highlighted the Tinubu administration’s record in industrial relations, citing the absence of prolonged strikes by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) as an example of progress.
