Moniepoint urges journalists, business owners in Osun to prioritise health

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
The Osun State Coordinator of Moniepoint, Olufemi Olaniyan, has urged journalists and business owners to prioritise their health through regular exercise and medical check-ups, warning that poor health could undermine productivity and business growth.
Olaniyan gave the advice during a health walk organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council, as part of activities marking the council’s 35th anniversary.
He observed that many business owners focused on increasing revenue and expanding their enterprises without paying adequate attention to their physical well-being, stressing that financial success meant little if poor health prevented them from enjoying its benefits.
“The role of money is different from the role of health. If you are not healthy, no matter what you have, definitely the money is not valuable,” he said.
Olaniyan disclosed that Moniepoint had partnered with the NUJ on the health initiative for more than four years, explaining that the collaboration aimed to encourage professionals and business operators to adopt healthier lifestyles.
He urged entrepreneurs to incorporate regular exercise into their daily routines, adding, “Stay healthy, exercise more and live a healthy life. Doing that, your life will be prolonged, and business expansion will be more certain because you will have the good health to grow your business”.
Also speaking, the NUJ Osun State Council Chairman, Comrade Adeyemi Aboderin, urged journalists to pay greater attention to their health, noting that the demands of their profession often left them with little time for exercise and medical check-ups.
He recommended 10 to 15 minutes of walking before work and regular physical activity at least twice a week, while acknowledging the contributions of past leaders to the council’s 35-year journey.
