Abiodun assures completion of ongoing road rehabilitation in Mowe, Magboro communities

Governor Dapo Abiodun has pledged to complete the ongoing rehabilitation of roads in Mowe and Magboro communities, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The promise follows concerns raised by some residents of Adesan-Olu Community in the Mowe, who appealed to the governor to complete the repair of the 3.5-kilometre road in their area.

The governor recently approved the rehabilitation of the road, which the community said was formerly in a bad condition for years.

But the Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Communication and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, urged the residents to be patient, assuring them that the government would complete the projects.

“We should thank God. And when the government does something, we should be able to commend the government. They should know that the road will be completed.

“The 2024 budget is not yet exhausted. There are so many factors that make contractors (not be on site). You know, when you do a job to a particular level, you need a certificate for you to be remobilised. It also requires some processes. People will come and verify to know that you’ve done the actual thing. They cannot give them all the money at a go. So they should relax.”

He explained that since the government has announced the commencement of the project, there is no cause for alarm, noting that the rehabilitation of Magboro Road is also still in top gear.
