Actor Richard Mofe-Damijo endorses Badejo-Okusanya for NBA presidency

Veteran actor, producer and lawyer Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) has endorsed Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya for the presidency of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), describing her as a leader of integrity, humility and proven competence.

In a statement declaring his support ahead of the NBA presidential election, Mofe-Damijo said he had known Badejo-Okusanya for many years and had watched her demonstrate consistency, dedication and strong values throughout her legal career.

According to him, leadership is not about holding titles but about possessing the integrity to do what is right, the humility to listen and the courage to make difficult decisions when necessary.

“The Nigerian Bar Association stands at a defining moment in its history. It deserves a leader who understands where the profession has been, appreciates where it is today, and has the vision to take it where it needs to be.

“More importantly, it deserves someone who will lead with dignity, fairness, and a genuine heart for service while preparing the Bar for the future,” he said.

Mofe-Damijo said his endorsement was not based on friendship but on his conviction that Badejo-Okusanya is prepared for the responsibility of leading the association.

He urged members of the NBA to assess the candidates based on their character, values, track record and consistency rather than campaign rhetoric.

The actor and lawyer expressed confidence that Badejo-Okusanya possesses the qualities required to serve as the 33rd president of the Nigerian Bar Association and wished her wisdom and success in the election.
