Adeboye issues stern warning to RCCG Pastors, members, others

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), issued a strict warning to the church’s pastors, workers, and members during the church’s 72nd annual convention, which concluded on Sunday.
In his address, Adeboye expressed strong disapproval of certain fashion trends among church workers, specifically criticizing men with braided hair and women who wear false eyelashes and heavy makeup. He made it clear that such appearances would no longer be tolerated on RCCG altars.
“In Yorubaland, the only men who braid their hair are the priests of Sango, the god of thunder. They say this is a new age and that we must adapt to modern trends. To continue as Sango priests? Not in this mission. Even after I’m gone, it will still not happen,” Adeboye stated.
He continued, “Mark my words: if we find any pastor, particularly female pastors, presenting themselves like a Nollywood star, they will be removed from the altar.”
“You may not like it, but if you are my children, you can’t harm me. Do you know why real men don’t wear makeup? It’s because we have what is called a superiority complex. We stand before the Lord and say, ‘God, You did a good job creating us. You made no mistake.’”
Adeboye also questioned the motivation behind certain beauty practices. “When you start fixing false nails, I wonder what you’re trying to achieve. If God wanted to make you a bird, He would have given you false nails and false eyelashes.”
He concluded by reinforcing his stance, saying, “If anyone questions why you are making this drastic change, tell them, ‘Daddy GO said so.’”
The clergyman also urged church workers to stop altering what God has created. “He did a good job when He created you. You were made original, and you should remain original,” he said.
