Former Minister of Power and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has expressed condolences to the family of former Oyo State Governor, the late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, following the death of the ex-governor’s younger brother, Alhaji Teslim Adeboye Ajimobi.

Adeboye reportedly died in London on Thursday, exactly six years after the death of his elder brother, Senator Abiola Ajimobi. In a statement issued by his media aide, Comrade Femi Awogboro, Adelabu described the death as painful and a significant loss to both the Ajimobi family and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-West.

He noted that the family had once again been thrown into mourning at a time when memories of the late former governor remain fresh among many Nigerians.

Adelabu recalled that the late Teslim Ajimobi served as the Caretaker Chairman of Ibadan South-East Local Government Area in 2017 during the administration of his elder brother, adding that he was known for his grassroots engagement and commitment to the progressive cause.

He also described the deceased as a private businessman who maintained corporate interests outside Nigeria while remaining closely connected to his family’s political activities.

According to Adelabu, the Ajimobi family made remarkable contributions to democracy and the development of Oyo State, stressing that the death of another family member would be deeply felt by the APC and many beneficiaries of their public service.

He prayed for the peaceful repose of Teslim Ajimobi’s soul and asked God to grant the family the strength to bear the loss.

Adelabu also extended his prayers to the widow of the late former governor, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, their children, and other members of the bereaved family.
