Adeleke rallies Osun athletes for Gateway Games

Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has assured athletes representing the state at the National Sports Festival in Ogun State, tagged Gateway 2024, of strong welfare and support.

The message was delivered by Honourable Abiola Jeremiah Awoyeye, Chairman of the Osun State House of Assembly Committee on Sports and Special Needs, who represented the governor at the athletes’ departure ceremony.

Awoyeye assured the athletes of both moral and financial backing, urging them to compete with commitment and give their best.

He added that medal-winning athletes would be rewarded, providing further motivation to excel.

The Permanent Secretary of the Osun State Ministry of Sports, Mr. Layi Adesiyan, thanked Governor Adeleke for his consistent support, which he said has boosted the athletes’ morale.

One of the athletes, Islamiah Yusuf, expressed gratitude to the governor and promised top performance at the festival.

The General Manager of the Sports Council, Mr. Rotimi Dumoye, also promised better rewards for medalists, reinforcing the state’s dedication to nurturing sporting talent.

With Governor Adeleke’s backing, Osun State athletes are set to make a strong impression at the National Sports Festival.
