Afrobeats stars Adekunle Gold, Simi announce birth of twins

Afrobeats stars Adekunle Gold and Simi have welcomed a set of twins, bringing joy to fans after a five-year wait since the birth of their first child.

The news was first shared by Adekunle Gold via his Snapchat story on Wednesday. Simi later confirmed the arrival with a heartfelt message on social media, writing, “Asked God for another child and He blessed me double.” The announcement was met with an outpouring of congratulatory messages and warm wishes from fans and well-wishers.

Speculation about the growing family had been mounting for weeks. It began with the couple’s Christmas family photos, which featured a visibly pregnant Simi alongside Adekunle Gold and their daughter. Anticipation intensified after Simi posted an Instagram video highlighting her baby bump, captioned, “From my baby, for my babies.”

She later added to the excitement by sharing a cropped scene from Adekunle Gold’s newly released music video, accompanied by the caption, “My love is the same.”

Adekunle Gold and Simi welcomed their first child, Adejare Kosoko—affectionately known as Deja—in May 2020. Five years on, the couple have now been blessed with twins.

Married in 2019 after years of friendship and musical collaboration, the pair continue to be celebrated as one of Nigeria’s most influential and admired celebrity couples.
