After years of barreness, sexagenarian gives birth in Ogun

A 68-year-old woman, Alhaja Kehinde Sofiat Adekunle, after years of marriage and childlessness, has given birth to a baby boy at a private hospital in the Olomore housing estate area of Ogun State.

Disclosing the extra ordinary and seemingly wonderful event to our corespondent, Hon. Kafayat Afolake, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Abeokuta south local government, revealed that the woman had experienced infertility for years, after marriage and had failed to get remedies to her problem.

She further stated that family, friends, well wishes as well as larger community have welcomed the latest development with great joy and gratitude to God on behalf of the once expectant couple.

In an emotional state of joy and expressing her delight, Mrs Adekunle thanked God for the bundle of joy, as she noted had put smiles on the faces of her family.

Adding that her self and her husband had been optimistic that God would give them a child, she declared that all through the years of barrenness her faith in God was unwavering.

“When someone is looking for fruit of the womb, the person will be moving from one hospital or gynecologist to another, undergoing series of gynecological investigations and treatments,” she said.
