Aiyedatiwa celebrates Ondo matriarch Ma’ami Ajulo at 90

Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has paid glowing tribute to Chief (Princess) Christianah Monisola Ajulo, describing her as a beacon of resilience, wisdom, and true motherhood.

The governor made the remarks during The Amazon Colloquium, an event held at The Dome, Akure, in honour of Ma’ami Ajulo’s 90th birthday. The nonagenarian is the mother of the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Kayode Ajulo, SAN, OON.

The celebration brought together a distinguished mix of political figures, traditional leaders, and community influencers. In attendance were Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Adelami, mni; Ondo State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Olusegun Aiyedun; Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fashoranti; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Olusegun Omojuwa; and the Head of Service, Pastor Bayo Philips.

Also present were prominent monarchs and statesmen, including the Deji of Akure, the Olubaka of Oka, the Regent of Ifira-Akoko, Dr. Bode Olajumoke, Senator Niyi Adegbonmire, Bashorun Seinde Arogbofa, General Dayo Olukoju (Rtd), and Hon. Femi Meshe.

Sharing a personal anecdote, Governor Aiyedatiwa recalled a visit to Ma’ami Ajulo during his 2023 gubernatorial campaign, where she offered him a quiet but powerful prayer.

He described the moment as a spiritual endorsement that stayed with him throughout the race. According to him, blessings from elders like Ma’ami played a pivotal role in his clean sweep across all local government areas.

“Motherhood goes beyond raising children—it’s about shaping values, nurturing communities, and building nations,” Aiyedatiwa said. “Ma’ami Ajulo embodies all these and more. She hasn’t just raised a family; she’s raised a generation.”

The colloquium, themed “Motherhood: Key to Child Development and Nation Building”, underscored the lasting impact of maternal influence on both personal and national growth. Speakers celebrated Ma’ami Ajulo’s life of faith, sacrifice, and community service, portraying her as a pillar whose legacy extends far beyond her home.
